Picture = 1000 Words … July 1 - 10, 2023
Saturday, July 1 - This is the reception building for the hospital compound where Cody was born 8 years ago… we walked the halls and found the room where he came into this world…
In this picture there is a lady at the front door… we conversed with her and she told us that she had come with her sister who has been sick off and on since giving birth… there didn’t seem to be a remedy… we prayed for her and her sister’s situation right there…
After touring the reception room, outside we see her coming toward us with her sister… whom she wanted prayer for… she did not look well… she had difficulty breathing and pain and swelling in her legs…
After prayer there was improvement in both areas and when we met her again after touring the hospital her whole countenance was changed… she was talking and laughing… 🙌 Thank-you Jesus! 💞
We drove up the mountain behind the hospital and enjoyed the view… coming down now…
We are on the west side of Togo… it has some mountain ranges… and overall is more tropical and lush than the east side…
We are halfway up the mountain here… a small hanger’s airstrip in the center is near the hospital… you can see another mountain range in the distance…
Repair time… under a cloudy sky…
There is a heavy, low hanging fog between us and the mountain range… we are in rainy season now and the landscape looks so fresh!
Sunday, July 2 - Today was a marking of new beginnings… A day of rejoicing… Jeremy and Mary’s baptism! 🙌 💞
Romans 6:4, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Romans 6:5, “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:”
Back to Jeremy’s for lunch and an afternoon of fellowship and prayer… 💞 “How sweet the communion of God’s children!” Jeremy’s are truly family… And it’s amazing to witness a deeper connection growing between us than we ever had… and to see God’s plan unfolding! 💞
Monday, July 3 - Rested, journaled, prayed… bought another meal for the same lady when out on a walk… watched a movie with the family in the evening…
Tuesday, July 4 - Today we toured the mission compound that was our home from 2011-2016… the trees were taller and plants and bushes had been added… but most of it hadn’t changed…
A view of the backside of the house…
A view of the back yard…
A view from the back yard…
Surprise! The ice cream freezer that was made using motorcycle parts, rebar, and tin pails… I remember the many trips to the local welder and shops for bearings, gears, bolts, etc. We used it only 2 or 3 times before we left, but the missionary said it still is making ice cream…
Lights… camera… action…
Children’s play shelter…
Thank you Denton and Karilee for letting us walk memory lane…! 💞

Wednesday, July 5 - Another day to catch up/rest… Cheryl and I went uptown for ice cream and she made some chocolate sauce… 😋 Cheryl’s innovation with our limited options is expanding our taste bud selections… another family movie night.
Thursday, July 6 - Samson came over for the afternoon…
July 7&8 - More home time… Cheryl makes a favorite meal of crepes…
Mmm…
😋
We gave the ingredients to the kitchen staff to make fresh salsa… then they pounded it up for us…
Sunday, July 9 - Getting ready to feast again from Mary’s kitchen…
Corn meal and sauce… also beans, oil and gari…
When food is served, the children come…
We shared this revolutionary teaching with Jeremy’s… it’s had a huge impact on us…
Discussion time afterwards…
Monday, July 10 - Somebody turns 6 today… 🎉
Carrying Togo-style…
We celebrated with a supper of bean quesadillas… One of Jaime’s favorite meals…
Jaime first saw this rainbow… actually a double rainbow!
She is especially fond of rainbows and this one on her birthday was God’s gift to her…
We found a local cake bakery…
🎶 “Happy birthday to you… 🎶
Can she do it?
She thinks she can…
She seems to have a plan…
First bite! The cake looked amazing… 😋
I think we Americans are addicted to lots of sugar… we ended up sharing most of the cake with the hotel staff… much to their great delight!! 🥳
